4 things to know to maximize the life of your candle

Keep in mind that the first burn is the most important one, as it will set the tone for the rest of its candle life. Here are a couple of tips that are important to know.

Make the first burn unforgettable

The first burn is the most important one.
It will set the tone for the rest of the candle life.

Allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the jar before extinguishing (usually around 1-2 hours)

If the candle is extinguished too quickly, you way experience tunnelling.

Remember to trim the week

Before each burn, the wick should always be trimmed to 1/4".

If the wick creates a mushroom, safely extinguish the candle, let it cool down, cut it with scissors and light it up again.

Watch your burning time

Don't burn the candle more than 4 hours and never keep it unattended.

The flame could get too large and get your candle to smoke.

Stop using it when it remains less than 1/2" of wax

Give a second life to the candles by keeping the jars. It's easy to clean with just some soap and water. The wax shrinks at cold temperature, so place it overnight in your refrigerator. Take out the candle the next day and gently tap the candle upside down on a paper towel so the wax can slide out. Then let it warm at room temperature and wash it with soap and water – easy! The jars used in the Remember that time's collection make perfect whisky glasses, while those from Live in the moment are amazing for your pumpkin seeds or whatever you want to store in!
